PP 5w30 in the summer. Going to try M1AFE 0w30 this winter.

Adopting the P1 14610 as my standard filter for my 2 cars(standard on TSX and upsize on G). This is purely to stick to the KISS doctrine.

 

Just switched to Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30, from Valvoline SynPower 5W-30. The UOAs on PU are just too hard to ignore

I didnt know the Purolater ...610 filter works on this car too.....thats the same filter on my Frontier pickup, so I could have gotten a bunch and shared between the G and the truck.

No biggie, I prefer to keep it OEM size during warranty period anyway.

+1 for whatever the dealer puts in.... I'm pretty sure it's just regular 5w30.

Actually I used Valvoline Syn Power 5W-30 w/ Purolator filter this time since Wal Mart was out of my usual PP. I was doing 7500 OCI's with PP, but I'm not sure if I should do that with an oil I've never used before or seen UOA's on.

This week I asked my dealership what oil they put in my G..."we use an Esso brand 5W30 oil"
Any comments/opinions about this oil?

 

I use whatever the dealer puts in. What I dont understand is why Nissan still uses miles as a determinant for the life of oil instead of engine revs. I hardly, hardly ever get on it and I drive 90% on the highway and the condition of my car's oil would definitely be different than someone driving 3750 miles in the city. I get my oil changed every 4K miles. Do you guys think the dealer oil can last 5k miles? My previous cars would go a minimum of 7500 miles before the oil change light would come on. My 3 series actually went over 12k miles and I got the oil changed coz it had been a year! No joke.
