RPM dips low at idle
#62
Exceptional Service?
So I had the dealer look at the throttle bodies. The tech told me he sprayed some throttle body cleaner into them. Car seemed to be more responsive and the idle was definitely better - around 6-700 RPMs. He said there was nothing in their database to indicate a problem with the idle or any problem with the throttle bodies. He also mentioned I shouldn't put too much stock in forums.
Got about a mile away and at the first stop before the freeway - - car shuddered and dropped down to 400 RPMs. Guess I'm going to have to do this myself.

Sorry everyone for opening up an old post... Got a 2011 IPL this last weekend and have the same issue.. It definitely drops more with the AC on than when its off.. Was wondering if the dealer flashes was something you had to pay for? Probably I would guess.. Will try the TB cleaning too

Clean TB and get a pressurized fuel injection system cleaning. I do this every 15,000 miles and results are noticeable. More power, smooth idle, gas mileage boost. As I reach the next 25,000 the rough low idle etc. begins to return. Been doing this for years and it works well.

My 2008 G37 has been doing that since 27k and i finally figured out the issue. I had to have my idle bypass valve cleaned and the issue stopped for me. its been about a month since its happened last. I have had it in the shop about 20 times and they could never fix it. I thought i would pass this along since it seems to become more of an issue.
When you say "idle bypass valve" would that be the Idle Air Control Valve? Can you take a pic and post it?
