I think it's fair that we all should be notified to avoid shops like this.

That beat up kit is not a GTM kit. This makes me think it is forged because:
1) GTM stopped selling their kits to Forged, so Forged had to butcher up a different kit.
2) The hammer marks are signature of Forged.
3) Forged is also well known for raping the engine harnesses.

The owner could've gotten it way back and had it installed at when they were still vendors of GTM. Who knows.

It's not a GTM KIT! The GTM kit:
-piping are polished or powdercoated
-50x better welds
-Uses GTM couples with T clips, not screws
-Uses red K&N filters
-Piping route is different

If you compare the before and after pics that Sam posted up, you can tell that the kits are completely different.

Is it the kit that's the issue or the crappy install?

Thank God Sam was able to salvage the car and satisfy yet another happy customer!

Definitely a combination of both. Or this company tried to make their own custom kit.

i actually have a little knowledge of this car.
this is what I know...
installed & butchered by a out-of-business shop in FL
sent to another shop to try to fix problems(forged), with no results.
sent to GTM, who did their thing,
now its at a Fl dealership(for sale) with a blown engine(e-bay listing last week)

Just found the ebay auction:

Infiniti : G37 - eBay (item 260723157466 end time Jan-21-11 0626 PST)

Wow, it sold for like nothing. Someone could've bought it and installed a new engine. Would've been around $24k for a low mileage GTM turboed car.
