Purchased my 2011 in June of 2011 and had the upgrade about 5 months ago. Car is now much better in D. DS has been tamed and is not as aggressive as it was. I consider it a good trade off.

Hello all,
This is my first post after lurking for a few months. I just bought a 2010 x sedan this week and want to find out if anyone has had this update done in Long Island NY? I would love to bring it somewhere where they know about this update and just do it correctly the first time without any runaround.

Also looking for any positive feedback as to where to bring the car for service in the future, it was purchased in NJ so I need to pick a dealership in NY to maintain my car.

Sorry for the long read, just excited with my new toy.

Thanks, Joe

Has anyone had the 027b to 027d update on a 2009? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the effort.

I really like 027b over stock, but it does hold the gears a bit long sometime. I have to manually upshift when driving a bit aggressive.

I was under the impression the software for ALL of the 027 updates is the same, they just used the a, b, c, d to signify as they added more models/years/VINs to be eligible for the update.

Is D really different from A, other than the affected years?

Joe, I was also worried that my Infiniti dealer in CT would hassle me about getting this re-flash done, but the service manager knew exactly what I was talking about before I even finished my sentence. This laggy transmission issue is a well-known issue and seems to be a common complaint. I'd be surprised if any of the dealerships in Long Island weren't aware of this. I printed the official Infiniti service bulletin just in case: http://infinitig37.com/TSB/ITB12-027d.pdf

Thanks everyone.
Just worried after reading there is more than 1 update and they need to be done in a specific order. The tranny now is a bit clunky but not horrible, seems like it takes a lot of pedal and rpm to get the car moving. If I stomp on it it goes hard trying to be gentle is where I hope this update helps.

Thanks again, Joe

Hey guys

I have a 2011 g37x which has the above mentioned transmission problems but the Nissan dealer here in Mongolia does not have the update or they don't know about it at all.

So, how do I do this by myself?

can any1 give me a detailed instructions on upgrading my ecu and transmission?

Not possible, since it needs some pretty expensive dealer-only equipment to be done.

Can you try another dealer? Maybe bring a copy of the TSB and be nice about showing them?

The update has been out for a fairly long time now, Im surprised they havent heard about it.

It's Mongolia, and we have only 1 authorized Nissan dealer who imported Infiniti's just to earn more money!

We had our first rollercoaster of the whole country built last year and the first highway is gonna be finished arround 2015 or so...

so don't be surprised hehe

where do I get the update? How is the whole procedure goes?
They download the update then install it? or do they get the CD and load it in their laptops then reprogram the tranny?

Let's say I can gain access to those dealer equipments like that wireless connector thing they connect under the steering wheel and the laptop at the other end of the signal.

What do I do from there? Where can I find the update?

What do you mean if you bring the update? Did you mean the TSB code? If your taking it to the dealership just ask the service advisor to update your transmission to the noisy current update, which I believe is 027D
