G37 7speed transmission reprogram
had reprograming done
Had reprograming done few weeks ago and transmission clunk from 2 to 1 is fixed now. Otherwise transmission is working pretty much the same, still somewhat hesitant when it needs to downshift fast.
Just traded in the G for a new truck, and while it's only a 6 speed, and it's a diesel, it's amazing how it is just smarter when shifting. When in 6th gear and you punch it, it's about a second lag before you feel the full power start to kick in, and the turbo begin to spool, rather than the 3-4 seconds from 7th to 3rd of the G. I'm purchasing a new car towards the end of the year, so I will check out the Q50 when it comes out, but if it has the same crap programming, lag, and stupidity, I'll steer clear of it and buy something else. I absolutely LOVED my G37, but would never have traded it in if it hadn't been for that pile of junk transmission.
The TSB only applies to certain ECM and TCU part numbers. The TSB states that some sort of diagnostic software needs to be connected to the car to get the part numbers (probably an Infiniti/Nissan proprietary app).
Although with the update I still have a hard downshift from 5th to 4th
Although I have been Relunctant, I'm going to the 2013 M37X
You guys know over the course of probably 2 + years, bitching about the 7AT in my 2010 G37X, I THINK that I'm going to take Infiniti's offer to waive the last 3 payments of my lease, waive the Dispo fee, and take a new lease on a 2013 M37X Premium and Deluxe Touring packages. G_Spot_37 sent me a PM about some sort of re-tuning done to his 2013 M. After 8K miles he was beginning to feel some lag, not as bad on his former G, but he was feeling it. His Dealer said they Re-Tuned the Tranny (?) and GSpot says he noticed the difference immediately. Did he get the ITB12-027 Reflash, I don't know. GSpot?? Do you know yet.
Over the course of the last 2 months I have driven to test cars to replace my G _ Audi A-6 3.0T , A-5 with 2.0T, Acura TL SH-AWD, E350 4 matic, BMW 535i X , even a Lincoln MKZ AWD w/3.7V-6, and Ford Fusion with a 2.0 EcoBoost engine. The 2013 Audi is best overall, supercharged 3.0 V-6 engine WOW, 8 speed Auto Trannie, WOW. But too much $$$$$. I drove a 2011 A-6 3.0T, almost pulled the trigger as a CPO, but it did not handle as well as the M, it rode too hard for my liking, and IMO none of these cars have the Interior of the M especially with the Deluxe Touring Interior (WOW).
The waiver Pull Ahead program really made the final decision. I'll probably do the deal this week. One thing that has really puzzled me : I don't see very many Ms on the road. Lots of Audis, MBs, BMWs, even Acura TLs, but very few Ms in the NY Metro area?? Why?

Good luck Almatti in whatever you end up with, you've had quite a journey and took a lot of shots for our team
I have the same car and it applied to mine. The transmission change happened half way through 2010, so if your car was made in the later half of the year in 2010 then you wont need the update. Mine was made in May I believe so I needed it.
Although with the update I still have a hard downshift from 5th to 4th
