it's not uncommon that an exhaust or intake will make your car run worse. people justify having for sounds or looks by claiming they feel gains

Sure, I've done the whole open header thing in my youth (ginormous detriment to driveability and part throttle performance) but on my G I only had an axle back and a mild one at that (Tanabe Medallion). I was looking for sound only and generally agree there is not a performance gain to aftermarket intake or exhaust on an otherwise stock car. My experience goes to show IMO how finely tuned a factory car is these days. This was the first mod I've done to a car in ~15 years, and first ever to a FI/ECU-controlled car. Never again.

I visited the dealer the other day to see if I could get rid of the car, but it was too expensive to get out of the lease. I also looked at swapping it for a newer model in the hope that it it might drive better, but I decided that was unlikely, plus it was expensive.

I don't get why they can't make my car drive like the loaner which is a cheaper car but blows the doors off of mine. How hard can it be? If I wanted an Accord I'd buy one.

As mentioned many times before, the thought is that the transmission adapts to your normal driving, eventually.

I have yet to meet anyone that treats a loaner like they treat their own vehicle. On top of that, without knowing how long it takes to 'adapt', most people probably wouldnt even have a loaner long enough to get it accustomed to "granny driving".

I still maintain its mostly a software issue, possibly coupled with the slight lack of low-end power in the 3.7L (I think one of the Infiniti service techs said they are calling it a throttle response issue). I know a few people are saying the Q50 drives much better with "the same" transmission, but again is it really better or have people not driven it long enough to tell just yet....and if it really is better, and really is the same transmission, could the s/w be backed down to previous years

I had the 027 ITSB done on my previous 2010 G37x and it was a big difference in take off from the line and overall shifting. It felt way more sporty. A month ago I ended up trading it in early (7 months left on lease) for a 2009 G37x same color but with Nav and saved almost $140 a month. 2010 had 25000 miles, 2009 has 34000 miles. My 2009 just feels like it would blow the ***** off my previous 2010. Then this weekend I installed the aFe pro dry s performance air filter, and I'm serious when I say it feels even faster. This G screams down the road when you ask it to. Sounds a tad better as well. The intake system on this car seems to be so well designed from factory, if you let it breathe just a little more it seems to say "thank you"!

I just got my done today ,but is not 027d,but 027c.It does drive better now. It shift to the right gear for the right speed and throttle without smashing the gas pedal and now it would not shift twice going down. Love it so far .Still a little retarded in occasions around 20 miles per hour, but so far I can deal with that.I also got the steering switch finisher replace under a bulleting the number is ITB12-050 .The peel off happen to my 350z also. The old one is like white plastic with some kind of rubber coat easy to scratch the new one is hard black plastic the service manager says this one would not scratch full black plastic.

i asked my dealer about the tsb and he said that since my car was out of warranty, (i have 64k miles on the car and the warranty expired at 60k, date wise warranty is good till 12/2013) it will not be free. i was too shocked to ask him the price. he scheduled an appointment for next week and told me that he will see what he can do.

is it right for him to charge me for a tsb for a car that is out of warranty? and if so, how much does it usually cost?

If anything, shouldn't it falls under power train warranty?

I will be rid of this POS by the end of the year.
Well wanted to post an update. Took the car in at the end of January for the 5th time. I told the Service Writer that I wanted him to go for a ride with me. We went for a ride and then came back and I took a Tech for a ride. They finally agreed that the transmission was a problem, and ordered a new one from Japan. 6 weeks later (had a sweet FX37 loaner) and the car is better than new. I only wish that they would have done it 2 years ago. I'm still getting rid of it in a year or so, but at least it's fixed finally.

What kind of issues were you having with it that prompted a replacement?
