No, the did a IVAL. Idle volume air learn. Just learned the airflow thru the mass air's/TB's, not the software in the ecm/tcm

To add to that, resetting the ecu is like doing a memory dump and reboot rather than replacing the entire operating system (an analogy that some might find helpful). Your updated software is intact.

So between the 5spd auto in the 2008 G37 vs the 7spd in the 2009+'s... Would you all still want the 7spd?

If the 7sp is programmed correctly you really can't beat it....

I've been wondering about this lately. If doing a valve body upgrade and an ECU tune, does the 7AT logic also get reprogrammed, or do we just end up with a stronger, but nonetheless still retarded transmission?

Retarded Transmission??? You got that right !!! Even with the new reprogram, it's still quirky unit, with poor coasting. Unless there is a major change to the 7AT, I'm probably going elsewhere... I still hate the way it performs in local / suburban driving. Way too high a gear which boggs it down and "feels" numb with a locked up torque converter. Infinti - Look at VW's tranny. Or even Ford's 6AT, so much better.

See the programming wouldn't bother me so much if there wasn't now a problem with the fully manual mode (the delayed slam bang downshift phenomenon). I use the fully manual mode probably 80% of the time to get the level of aggressiveness i want out of the trans.... But this new issue means i now have to drive around THAT.

It's inexcusable that Infiniti can't seem to solve this problem, particularly since the 370z doesn't have it!

And I hate to report, but the 2012 is different. I will do a full review after I have had a chance to drive it enough to be certain of all the details.

But either Infiniti is too stupid to just copy and paste the 2012 programming onto the older models, or there is some other hardware change (tranny itself or ECU) that prevents this from occurring and we got ITB-027 instead.

In for those updates. I'm curious to know if you can confirm that the hardware or the software is in fact a different version, or if this is just based on your observation of performance? Thanks!

I get the harsh downshift with the Sport mode only, it is annoying but tolerable. Very interested to hear about anyone's experience with the reprogramming.

I've experienced harsh downshifts in D & DS, lag, gear hunting ect.. I've driven '10 and '11 loaners and its the same deal. The early model 12's got to have the old software.

I have a '13, and I have no harsh shifts. I would like some more 'performance' feeling shifts. It's too luxury at this point.

With the reprogram 027, harsh downshifts, even more pronounced with the paddle shifters.

Am I the only one who enjoys "harsh" downshifts? And they really aren't that harsh as people say they are, try driving an E60 M5. Then you'll see harsh...

So what you're saying is the newest reprogram makes downshifts in paddle shifters mode even harsher? If so I'll go get it done tomorrow lol, love downshifts with exhaust
