Shifting Problems

Ok so, i've noticed a bit that my 3rd gear, when using the padel shifters to shift down, is sluggish. However, if I punch the throttle when rolling either from whatever speed, the car picks up and moves just fine.

Now, a while back when I first got the car, I was rolling, 20-25, shifted into 2nd and punched it. When it hit redline (i didn't realize) I used the shift up padel shifter. Well the car went "DUD" and it felt like I hit the govener. Well today Im doing 45, put it in 2nd, and punch it. The car hits redline and DOESNT SHIFT. So i get on up the road a bit, came to a stop sign, contemplated going to jail for a quick second, did a roll-out (1ft) and punched it, it shifted just fine, the motor sounded amazing, and everything went smooth.

Now my question is, apparently the person who had the car before me beat it to death. Do you think I should rebuild the tranny and possibly some of the mechanics from the engine to the tranny? Maybe its my torque converter?

It is just so sluggish when I'm in 3rd, like it feels like 5th almost. There is no gain. 4th is just devistating. Now 2nd is a beast, the pickup is amazing, and the cars flies into 3rd. By then, when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd, i'm already hauling *** so the car is picking up great through 3rd. I believe I still hold a 4-5 second 0-60.

Also, I'm thinking of taking the car to Z1 Motorsports in Carrollton, Ga tomorrow for a Dyno run. Should I do this to compare it to other G37's and some 370z's just to see if the car is in a terrible position? I am also afraid of something happening on the Dyno, and I do not plan to keep the car, but I don't want to trade in my '08 because no other G model looks like the '08 and I am in LOVE with these sport wheels.

Should i just replace the motor and tranny and get it over with? I'm approaching 44,000 miles, and you can tell previous owner beat the car up, or someone did, and I've been beating on it as well so.

What do you guys think?
