Switching from Convention to Synthetic.
If you change the oil and filter every 3750 miles per the recommended maintenance, lots of oils will do fine.
Personally, I think Mobil 1 0W-30 AFE is the best product they make, but to each their own.
Right now, I have EcoPower 10W30 in my G. Can't wait to get a Used Oil Analysis. I have seen 3 UOAs from EcoPower 10W30, and all three were stellar.

How long until you get your UOA done? You talk it up so much that I am considering it for my post break in change. I am figuring that the change can be anywhere from 1300 to 3000 miles with the next one at 7500. I am basing some of the calculations on where I will be at around 2-3 months. Do you think there is any harm in going with 10W-30? Spring/Summer in TX should be fine...
However, its when you want to run a longer OCI or schedule 2 where the decision is more important.
I wont go into much more detail than that because its beaten to death in numerous other threads.
In fact at page 9-6, the manual states:
Oil viscosity
The engine oil viscosity or thickness changes
with temperature. Because of this, it is important
that the engine oil viscosity be selected
based on the temperatures at which the vehicle
will be operated before the next oil change.

Give me a break. The manual recommends 5W-30, it doesn't require it.

^ Just to add, there are plenty of people who drive their car more often than I do and therefore change their oil more often than I do who change between oil weights depending on the season.
