Stillen SC, Tranny Cooler and Exhaust Install

NOTE: I posted this thread right after ordering the parts and it turned into a big debate in the Community over Stillen vs. GTM SC Kits. For the actual review with pictures and Dyno results follow this link: https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...c-install.html

After months of combing through the forums and PMing back and forth with a couple of you I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the Stillen tuner SC kit, tranny cooler and cbe this week. I will be having them installed by Mac Autosport of Colorado who will also be performing a custom tune.

The parts should be in soon but I will be waiting until Mac has received their new Uprev gear for the tune. I will update this thread as the build progresses and plan to post before and after Dyno charts when complete.

After seeing the big charge show up on my CC I must admit that I experienced a slight feeling of buyers remorse. The car is great in stock form and I hope that I am happy with the final result. My goal is to add more performance without ruining the daily driving experience. If this goes well then I plan to start on suspension upgrades next summer or fall.

I wish you good luck with the kit and the custom tune. I'm really surprised you didn't just grab Weiboys kit that he was selling super cheap and run a custom tune, but good luck either way and look forward to seeing results in this thread.

Thanks for the good wishes. Weiboy already had a pending sale when I finally decided to pull the trigger last Wednesday. I was able to get a significant discount due to current promotions but had to purchase by today. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out. Bill at MAC Autosport assured me that they would make sure that tune was right.

Thanks, hopefully I will be as satisfied as Whiddles. He indicated that he was happy with the way his custom tune turned out and recommended that I go the same route.

Enjoy it, the power will be nice. When I get around to doing the supercharger though I'm going with GTM.

I debated between the two for a long time. The main reason I went Stillen was the self contained lubrication. I didn't want to have to tap into the engine lubrication system. We'll see how it goes. I do like the way the GTM keeps a stock look under the hood though. When you make the plunge post the results, I am interested in hearing how it goes.

You should cancel your credit card payment and wait on something else, seeing how they left a fellow member out to dry after buying two of their most high dollar modifications they should starve. GTM stage 2 is on the way, much better kits, much better customer service.

Sorry, bro, but you were misinformed. GTM's SC does NOT tap into the engine oil. It does indeed have a self-contained lubrication system.

No, they didn't tell me that. I thought I read it on the GTM site. I must have mis-interpreted something that I read on thier SC page or gotten it confused with the GTM TT setup which I believe does require tapping into the engine lubrication system. My bad. Does anyone know if the GTM kit requires re-location of the oil filter? That may be where my confusion came from. That is what I get for doing research while enjoying a cold beverage or two!

The oil filter does need to be relocated b/c the s/c takes up some of the room of the filter. The S/C does not use the engine oil. It has its own oil system.

You should have told me that when we messaged back and forth before!

Was Whiddles one of the two? I PMed with him and he said that he is happy but that I should definitely get the custom tune.
