Exclamation Any ideas????

hi!
im starting a new thread with my problem and my updates, so if anyone can help please reply

10 days ago, i was driving my car back home at around 4 a.m. , no problems at all. All of a sudden the car wont throttle and the engine shuts off!! i tried to restart it and there was no use, it was cranking only.
i checked the oil level, it was low a bit cause i didnt do the maintenance for more than 2000km. So i got some oil and added it. Tried to restart my car but wont start , cranking only!!! i tried few times and then the battery went dead so i jump started it, but no use!! cranking only!! checked the fuel pump pressure and it was great!

called a tow few hours later and took my car to the dealer and they said they will check it.

5 days later, they called and said " we checked the car, no codes were there and its not yet starting so give us time " so i agreed. The next day they asked me to visit them, so i did. They started my car and it was running perfectly!!!!! i was so happy BUT the guy said " sir, we started your car without the CRANKSHAFT SENSOR" so i was like how!???????????
he said " whenever we have the sensor, the car doesn't work and if we disconnect it the car works with a bit of delay" so i said ok why is that???
he said " we need to check the plate assembly for engine and gear it might be damaged therefore it wont be sending signal to the sensor" so i agreed on that and they proceeded working on the car.

i went today, expecting to hear good news!!!
he said " sir, your assembly is fine and its not damaged!!! we even changed it for you but still there is no use .. and we even changed ur ECM and that didn't make and difference" so i was shocked!

went to meet Infiniti technical manager and he said its the first time for them to face this problem!! he said " your engine is perfect and your gearbox is perfect your ECU is perfect but we cant start it with the CRANKSHAFt sensor!!

so they sent an email to infiniti middle east located in Dubai and they requested few readings from the car, so they sent them and told me to wait for their feedback

so im waiting to hear from them !!!!!!!!

anyone have any idea on whats going o
n?? plzzzzzz help!!!!

You did not mention if they actually changed the sensor, just the flywheel "plate" I assume. That is very strange.....actually its strange that the car would start without the crank sensor!! Without it, there is no way for the ECM to know the engine position other than from the cam position sensor. Generally it would need both to "sync" and start but then if one of the signals was lost after the engine was actually running it would continue till you shut it off.
The fact that they swapped out the ECM and lets assume the sensor and flywheel, the only thing left would be the harness.
Keep us in the loop, this is defenitly a head scratcher...

your right.. i didnt mention that..
they DID install a new crankshaft sensor and same thing that car wont start, they even did a new connection with a new sensor to the ecm, and the car wont start!!!

they called today and told me infiniti middle east asked them to check few stuff, something to do with the the throttle and something with the engine timing..

so i'm waiting

its a head scratcher for sure! my skull is almost visible now!

latest updates!!
went to th dealer and the said that my engine is ok, ecu ok, sensors ok, fuel pump pressure ok, compression ok, spark ok, gear ok!!!

infiniti midde east technicians said that he problem is from the sprocket camshaft intake so my local dealer will have to order it and that might take a week as max!!!

they say they are 99.999999% sure that the problem is caused by that!!
so lets wait and seee

yaa man!
it was the worst month of my life!!!
such a problem never happens! the infiniti said that the part will be shipped to japan in order for them to check it out.

VTC or as he called the sprocket cam gear is a part that doesnt get effected easily or lets say its built to live not to die.
