At 18k miles my transmission likes to lurch or plunge forward, especially in reverse where I go into gear and let off the brakes it revs by itself up to 2k then falls back down to 1k within a split second. The revs are sometime irregular in drive or in reverse, note my car is automatic.

I really don't imagine how that happens. Hope you can find solutions quickly.
