You should get the ZSpeed HD CSD and also replace your master

Barely 22,000 miles without any issues, thank God

Just had Infiniti do a check and changed differential oil and engine oil per maintenance manual

Sorry I should have been more clear.

It definitely is the slave and I had that replaced by OEM. I couldn't get the HD CSC in time as I unfortunately bought the wrong part and my car was already on a hoist.

My mechanic says the master is an easy job so I'll just keep an eye out on the clutch fluid to see how quickly it gets dirty.

I had a 88 Mazda 929 5 speed manual that needed a clutch replacement at 200k miles

I traded in my previous 06 G35 6 speed manual at 171796 miles with the original clutch.

Sounds like what I went through.

Bought a 2010 with 60K KM (not miles) 2 years ago and clutch started slipping a month afterwards

On a side note: I replaced mine with Exedy OEM replacement (which supposedly came with a new slave) and just last month, my slave went and had to be replaced. I've only driven like 15K since then and I don't drive it hard.

I'm trying to prevent that from happening to me.
South Bend clutch/flywheel, new master cylinder and CMAK from ZSpeed. Hopefully relocating the slave outside the transmission will let the slave live as long as the clutch does.

G37s CSC gone

Well this wasn't the forum I ever wanted to post on but two days ago my 2012 vert G37s with 16k miles CSC went out so I figured I'd share my experience and ask some questions. Fortunately, because of this forum I had a pretty good idea exactly what it was nearly as soon as it happened. Car was fine one day, next day clutch wouldn't come off the floor. I checked fluids with no obvious leak. Dealer confirmed problem AND was actually fantastic about resolving. So I think because I was already educated about the extent of slave cylinder mishaps in these cars and (maybe) they're a decent dealer (Beaverton Infiniti, OR) they actually did the right thing and approached Infiniti about replacing the CSC out of warranty and covering it (minus $100, deductible or whatever) But I barely had to argue about anything and just asked about warranty / recall / what Infiniti would do and - DONE. My guess is there have been enough problems with these things that Infiniti has maybe given up fighting. Either way I'm impressed with both my dealer and Infiniti. So, I couldn't get them to put in an aftermarket Zspeed CSC but dealer did say the new Infiniti CSC is much more reliable. Anyone know? Also I was wondering whether I should try for different / upgraded other clutch parts while the tranny is down. I have a feeling they may not go for it but no harm in trying. Any input appreciated. Thanks

replace the MC at the same time. pay out of pocket, part is ~$120 + ~2 hrs labour. new CSC and MC, along with fresh fluid and proper bleeding, and you should be set.

when my dealer did my CSC under warranty i did the same. service manual states this in bold. my dealer used GTR clutch (brake) fluid. pretty sure the TSB or service bulletin (i saw it) requires the GTR fluid.

actually, i had also bought a lightly used (5k miles, almost no wear) OEM clutch kit (pressure plate, friction disc, flywheel) off a fellow forum member so i also paid 1/2 hr for the dealer to swap out the entire kit. for ~$500CAD i wound up with an almost new clutch/hydraulic assembly. several years later and no issues so far...fingers crossed. i just do regular fluid exchanges and drive as usual.

Unfortunately they got the tranny back in before I could get to them. Fingers crossed. Hopefully when I eventually get a supercharger on it I'll have a really good reason to then upgrade the clutch as well.....assuming it makes it that long.

^ the MC is separate from the gearbox. it is on the firewall. the connection is a hydraulic hose to the CSC.

Heard its kind of a bitch to replace. Why necessary to do both the MC and CSC?

^ yup. that, and any contamination within the (old) MC can/could make its way into the (new) CSC. sometimes the fluid flush and bleed doesn't purge all contaminants. by doing both parts and fluid at the same time you get the best odds of solving the problem longer term.
