Turbo vs. Supercharger

I just recently bought a 2010 G37x coupe and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which would be a better way to go?

I would go and read the different reviews from the very few who have done TT and SC and see what they say. that is your quickest way to get an answer. this will just get you flamed

Do a little bit of research yourself. I myself decided to go with TT setup for a couple of reasons.
1.SC kits were not out when I decided to F/I
2. Ive always felt that more power can be gained from turbo's
3. I hate the way a supercharger sounds (my own opinion)

You have to ask yourself a few questions as well. What is your powergoal? Is this going to be a daily driver? Alot of things play into effect when deciding to jump into this. GTM provides a great turbo system and has had great results from it. But like i said before do ALOT of research through the forums and other places before making your decision.

definitly do more research bro... posting up something like this is like asking the mods and senior members to flame you...

personally I would go GTM TT but its my daily and cant afford the break down with the way I drive... so im strongly considering the GTM S/C... and if GTM dont float your boat, you can look into the Stillen S/C threads... plenty of threads out there for the GTM S/C and Stillen S/C and there is a DIY for the GTM TT Kit... "Search you must" (Yoda voice) lol !

but true to what DmfG37sTT said... ask yourself the questions above ^ and GL with whatever route you choose !

I agree as my g35 has had a s/c and twin turbos and the twins just kick a s/c's butt.

I love turbos hands down, but for reliability and longevity on a NA engine, I believe superchargers are better. Adding a turbo to an engine not designed for it is a lot of strain on the engine and needs a lot of engine work to make it work reliably, something no kits ever come with and is still no guarantee. Superchargers just work better with stock NA engines. Of course if you just drive your car around town then you can do fine with turbos, but I drive 25k miles a year on my car and want that reliability. Now, if the engine was designed for turbos, like the 2JZ they can be very reliable and produce more power with less modifications than a SC

My 2 cents

there are a lot of friends that have over 40k miles on their FI'ed G on a stock block holding up. Clutches went before anything else. It's also about who tuned your car and how maintainence is kept up on it.

read on the good thread on g35driver.com about FI'ed members and mileage check in's.

I really miss my turbo G .... supercharge is nice but you'll probably want more power out of the car and with a turbo set up just get a bigger turbo and tune.

Go turbo or go home....HAHA J/K it really depeneds on your wants and needs. Turbo in my opinion can be just as reliable as superchargers if done right. 90% of my friends that have or had a superchargers wished they had more power or wish they would of went turbo. If your worried about resale value dont get either.

Sometimes an opinion is worth what it costs.
