Cobb abandons G37/370z owners..

COBB Tuning is announcing a restructuring of the AccessPORT product line in order to better align our internal resources with our core markets. Effective immediately, COBB Tuning is discontinuing development of AccessPORTs for the naturally aspirated Nissan 350Z and 370Z. Other naturally aspirated platforms affected by this restructuring include the Honda Civic Si, Infiniti G35 & G37, Mazda RX-8 and Subaru 2.5i & 2.5RS. Development for the Nissan GT-R is unaffected by this announcement. This refocus of resources and efforts will ensure that COBB Tuning can provide the high level of service each individual AccessPORT platform requires going forward.

Wow! Real glad I didn't buy the Accessport. Guess they will continue to provide the current maps on the site, but that's it. Wonder if this is due to sales volume for our line of cars.

nope it honestly wasn't a good cost of value vs. horsepower gains ....it's as much power as getting the kinetix manifolds

I don't know if I'd look at it that way... better check your local availability for an Uprev or technosquare tune... if you don't have one but do have Cobb tuners... I'd get a Cobb ASAP! The OTS maps are of limited value anyway, you need a pro-tune to really benefit from this device. Once you get that you're good. If the device breaks Cobb will still replace it. Even if you mod later you can still get a new map made.

UPDATE:
Also if you have a Access Port, make sure you download the Access Port Race Tuner Beta using your access port ID. With this you'll be able to take it to any tuner and get a tune.

Yea the way I read this is the G and Z aren't performance cars and are not as large as their "Core Market." To maximize revenue and profits were cutting back to focus on them. Note they kept the GTR..lol.

You can email service@3sx.com and see if they would. Have you checked the dealer listings for a local Cobb tuner?

Oh I wouldn't say that, you just need to run and not walk now to a Pro tuner. Bolt-on's without a tune however...definately not worth the investment.

I was watching a technosquare video the other day interesting to see the gains they got from a stock 6sp 370z also done on a superflow dyno. Kind of falls in with what I suspected, there's nice gains to be had with just a tune.

Definitely. I'm just not surprised though, that Cobb has dumped all off-the-shelf support for all these cars.

Other than the ones listed, what cars are they going to focus on? Just the EVO and STi? Oye. Sure, "following the money", may be offered as an explanation, but the Nissan/Infiniti market has been quite large from what I've seen.

Just more broken promises. Not surprising at all.

In other words, Cobb discovered that making NA power is not as easy as making power by just increasing boost on a turbo car.
