G37x transmission downshift issue - any updates??
My '09 G37x Sedan with 3700 miles hits a brick wall wall when decelerating between 20-30 miles per hour as soon as I let off the accelerator. I know this issue has been discussed in past threads and in fact its the same issue described in the following TSB release:

However, this TSB that came out in June is only for the Sport Sedan, not the X. i took the car in to the dealer yesterday for an oil change and had him check out the issue and he says a TSB for the 09 G37x still hasn't come out to resolve this known issue and the one for the Sport can't be applied to the X, even though the transmissions are the same/similar.
Does anyone now if he is correct that no TSB has resolved the issue in the G37x yet and if so, is anyone else having this same problem and when does Infiniti plan on getting around to this??? Its really an issue.
Really annoyed and pissed off right now. I expect more from Infiniti.
Thanks for the responses.

I just read that TSB. I'd point out that it indicates both 2wd and AWD, even the "Sport" AWD of the sedan is a G37x Sport. And it also mentions the coupe, 2wd and AWD. One can't get the sport option package with the G37x coupe, even if they call it a "Sport Coupe" in the TSB, when they say G37 Coupe, AWD it HAS to be a G37x Coupe, period. I suggest you print it out and inform them that they mention AWD in the TSB, which by default means a G37x

Also call Infiniti Customer service and complain.
I agree. The G37 is a "sport" sedan. There is no difference in the transmission on a G37x or G37xS. Now, if they plug your car into their system and it doesn't match up to the affected units then they won't update it. I had my dealer check for updates and they said I was up to date - I bought my car in May '09 and I know it was sitting on a lot for at least a few months. The downshifting when slowing down below 20 MPH was noticeable but never extreme, and now with 10K miles on it I don't even feel it. I know the system will adapt to driving style.

Berny.....find a new dealer.
It is for ALL 7AT's. Infiniti kind of f-uped the wording of the TSB. I have a 09 xS and I've had the update applied. It completely fixes the aggressive downshifting. Call consumer affairs at infiniti and have them call the dealership.

Thanks for the advice, I called Infiniti consumer affairs and am waiting for a call back Monday, will post what transpires.
Thank you very much, I'm going to show it to my knucklehead dealer on Monday. Much appreciated!!!
It is possible. They supposedly started putting it on new cars before it was released as a TSB.
This is over my head as a non-tech guy but I updated Infiniti Consumer Affairs on what they told me and am still waiting for a call back from someone at consumer affairs who knows about this stuff to look into it.
