Got a call from my consumer guy, who was very helpful in the process.
He said that my dealership was advised to order the part (what part number i don't know) and i will be going in as soon as it comes in...

Thanx beerme, you had a lot to do with pointing me into the right direction.

I have a 2006 G35 coupe and have the exact same high frequency whine as outlined in this thread and the previous thread. Searching through the V35 forums did not yield much information and the dealer has been unresponsive. I wish they would have made an ECU fix for my generation as well because this seems to be a problem that has plagued many Infinitis for several years.

How long have you noticed your noise? I would have gone off the deep end if I had to listen to that sound for 4 years.

i just called infiniti consumer affairs and they said to just wait for an answer from my dealership, since they will be getting the same info from whoever consumer affairs talks to. beyond useless

I actually bought the car used in 2007 and did not notice any such noise until the latter part of 2009. I would have noticed, too, because I am exceptionally **** with such things. I'm going to try an ECU reset and see what happens, but my hopes are not high. My B2B warranty just expired this month too.

new part has been ordered, however, it seems that my dealer can't locate it-whether Infiniti can't keep up with the demand i don't know or perhaps they create a new P/N for each ECU everytime-after all the two fixes in this thread had 2 different #s

alright well i gave the dealership the latest part number that someone listed on this thread, and my service advisor was able to confirm that that part existed. the first part number though, didn't exist according to him. i am bringing my car back in soon so that they can verify that the sound really is coming from the ecu, and if so, they can have it replaced

well you see that's the thing, i went for a test drive with one of the shop techs and he verified the noise with me. now it's just a matter of verifying that the whine is indeed coming from the ecu.

btw, i just spotted a thread on the370z forum in which a member had the high pitch noise fixed in his Z. apparently, having his ECM replaced with one with a serial number ending in A, instead of B, fixed his issue. that may be the key for our cars as well!

I am so stoked to go to my dealer, who has already confirmed my issue some time back, with these printouts and get my ECU swapped. I cannot wait.
