Hypertech Max Energy Sport...just got it

Well I just got my Hypertech tuner today. Ordered it Sunday night and found it for an amazing price (way cheaper than anyone else). I havent installed it yet because I am waiting to get an appt. with an AWD dyno to do some before and afters. Sorry for the tease

Hot stuff, keep us posted on your results. I enjoy seeing the AWD cars on the rollers.

just got back. ill try and post the graphs but the dyno was acting funny.

Baseline was 220hp and 197lbs/tq to the wheels...keep in mind Auto Tranny and AWD
After hypertech: 227hp and 202lbs/tq to the wheels

+7hp +5 lbs torque

Baseline:

86(hp loss to the wheels) divided by 306 = 28% in drivetrain loss.
71(tq loss to the wheels) divided by 268 = 26.5% in drivetrain loss

thats about right for an AWD Automatic, correct?

What kind of Dyno? Mustang?

Those drivetrain losses seem a tad high for something like a Dynojet, but about right for a Mustang. All-in-all I would not put too much weight in the actual baseline numbers. Too many variables on different dynos.

Any noticable differences between this and stock? (throttle response, smoothness, etc)

Yea, i just posted on driver. The smoothness is the biggest difference. There is also definitely some added power and slight throttle response increase. Not one big punch but smooth throughout.

dont expect miracles but if you are true gearhead, you will feel the difference. Im happy so far but ive only had it for a couple hours and its cold/rainy here so I havent had any chance to have some fun. its also been in Drive the whole time. I have yet to test it in DS or manual mode

Hmm, I might have to get this to put my A/F ratio right( test pipes/intake/cbe probably running lean). Also, are you able to load pre-loaded maps that are mod specific (kind of like the cobb) because where I'm at there probably isn't a tuner for this.

I would definitely like to see the before/after graphs with the A/F if you got them. If I recall correctly, there has been quite a bit of discussion on Dynojet vs. Mustang dynos and I think most folks found a Mustang reads about 12% lower than a Dynojet. That should put you in the ballpark for an AWD G35.

Either way it's about the gains realized after the mod. Seems pretty typical for an ECU flash. After the Hypertech install on the dyno, did you reset the ecu by chance?

Im trying to have them email me all the graphs. The paper copies I got are not so great. I was forced to use this dyno as I couldnt find any other AWD dynos in the STL area. This one was 45min away! Keep in mind I have the 306hp 3.5L G35, not the 3.7L G37. The more I look at the numbers and do the math, i dont think the numbers are too far off.

And no, I did not reset the ECU after the flash. Contemplating doing it but didnt.
