some info about the 7sp. auto

I love my g37s auto and is my favorite from all my cars except for my 2007 porsche cayman with 240 hp is drivers heaven .......anyways the g performs great but the 5sp. Auto has too much delay when shifting. I brought the car in to get checked out and mechanic said car is driving normal and also didn't recommend the 7sp. Because he said he changed 2 already and the trannies cost $11k to replace as apposed to the $6k for the 5sp. he also stated the 7sp. Is not any quiclier than the 5. Part of the reason he said cause the ecu is located in the tranny wtf....

Has anybody verified this and also for the auto guys what can I do for quicker shifting in manumatic. It has a 2 second delay.

In stock form what I experienced was that at half throttle the shifting will be slower than at full throttle.
If you want more crisp shifting, I recommend Black Betty's grounding kit. It made my downshifts snappier and the upshifts in manumatic are much quicker at full throttle.

With regard to the 7SP- When I look at the Sedan for example- I think that the more powerful engine was more of a contributing factor to the improved performance of the sedan than the 7SP tranny.

With taht said, from a dig (0-30)I still think that the 7Sp offers slightly more advantage over the 5sp.
