Paddle shifter upgrade for 2009 7AT G37?
Hi all, I've seen folks upgrading their G37 vehicles with the shift paddles but I believe that's for the 5 speed automatic. Has anyone done the same for the 7 speed automatic? I was told the pin-out on the paddle connectors is slightly different.
If you've installed it, where did you source the paddle kit for the 7AT from?
Thanks.

There is no such thing as a G37 with a 5AT.

As The Professor would say...
"Good news everyone!"
Yes, it is possible to install OEM Paddle Shifters on the 2009 G37 Sedan.
I personally bought my Black/Black 2009 G37 Sedan in late April. It is a Journey/Premium/Nav model.
That all being said, I'm fairly certain, from what I've seen on the net, advice I had from the wonderful folks at Riverside Infiniti, and my installation process that any 2007-2009 G35 or 37 SEDAN can use the same paddle shifter kit. Most coupes can as well, but some weren't pre-wired from the factory.
I purchased my kit directly from Riverside Infiniti for $222.15 with UPS shipping. The box arrived well-protected and the items inside were perfect.
There is a thread on G35 driver that explains step by step how to install them. However, I will point out that I did NOT take off my steering wheel to install the paddles. I have an powered tilt and telescope wheel, so I just powered it all the way out and turned the wheel so I could remove each of the trim screws. The hardest part is forcing the bottom trim piece out, which can take a bit of fiddling with it, and it will eventually require brute force and some bending. In the end, the bottom trim piece came right off in perfect condition. (And even if it hadn't, it gets replaced by other piece in the kit anyway, so who cares?). So before you go playing with your airbag and what not, please try just pulling the bottom trim out with some elbow grease (Make sure you do remove all THREE screws, two on the top, one off center on the bottom first though).
From there the installation was a snap, from opening the UPS box to the test drive took me about an hour and a half and I have no mechanical training of any kind. Do note that the kit that comes from Riverside doesn't include any extra screws. You don't need them, but if you want to fill every screw hole, you will need two more screws of the silver type that you remove from behind the wheel.
So rest easy folks, if you have a 2009 Sedan, but didn't spring for the sport package, you can still install OEM paddle shifters =)

I did not take any photos, but the DIY on G35 driver shows you the exact way it will look and what the pieces look like.
I'm sure I'll get around to taking photos of my baby some day soon =)
