Hard Shifting Manual

Hey,

I have had my G37S 6Speed for a little under a month now, I have noticed that shifting gears (mosting 1 to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd) is getting a little rough almost like the shifter is getting caught up on the gates.

Is this normal or something I should have the dealer take a look at, this is my first manual car.

I assume what you are talking about, is the very notchy gearbox. Its common in Nissan manual transmissions and as long as it is not excessively notchy, its normal.

It doesn't take pushing it all the way to the floor to disengage before shifting. Try what pushing clutch in half way (you'll feel disengagement point) and shift. You'll notice a smoother shift.

This is NOT normal. You shouldnt experience what you are describing.
Take it to the dealer and have it looked at.
Keep us posted

I had the opposite experience... mine got WAY smoother after about 3,000 miles. Shifter moves smoothly, clutch take up is better... overall, major improvement. If yours is getting worse, I would get it checked out. Doesn't seem right to me.

It is really hard to explain, but I even notice it just sitting there going though the gears almost like the shifter is catching the edge of the gate and I need to push it though to engage.
