State emmisions for FI?

In which states can a turboed G37 pass emmisions? I live down in the Houston area and I need more power! But I want to stay on the right side of the law.

They can in GA. I know quite a few people here with TT and we have strict emissions.

I guess I am most interested to know if there are states where a FI G37 would not pass emmisions. It's just a matter of time before we are all as environmentally strict as the strictest are now.

California - home of many aftermarket TT cars.

I think the emissions testing only applies to Harris, Ft. Bend, Galveston, and Montgomery counties in our area, doesn't it? I live in Chambers County (Baytown) and we don't have it. Could you register your car in Chambers or another county so as to avoid having to do it altogether? Much cheaper insurance and state inspection too.

I am in Brazoria county and we have inspections. With cats, I don't see why a TT G37 wouldn't pass as long as the computer did not set a code that the inspector would pick up. My highly modified TT 300ZX would pass easily however, I am new to modification of OBDII cars so I am looking for advice from someone with experience in these matters.

My bad, Brazoria too. I haven't had the issue personally so I'll defer. Is the emission testing different now than when you had your previous TT Z?

No, but the TT Z was an OBD I car so they could not plug the computer into it. They simply put it on the rollers and checked the tail pipe emission at two different speeds. Very simple test to pass for an OBD I car.

I just need to understand if they will flag anything when the pull the computer codes from an OBDII system and if there is a stricter set of standards on the way that would shut down my TTG project. I miss having a daily driver with unusable levels of power.

No emission laws in all of MI, or front plate license, or car inspections in general. Home of the gas guzzling, now near extinct muscle car, lol...

Most people just find an emissions place that is "mod friendly" for a few extra bucks. In GA it goes by counties and fortunately mine does not have it. The day it does is the day I change my address of residence lol.
