Engagement point of a clutch isn't necessarily indicative of its overall surface area. In fact there are other and much more pressing variables which can and will modify that issue.

what the surface area of the clutch disk have to do with the friction zone of the clutch pedal? It has to do with the thrust exerted on the clutch/flywheel by the pressure plate. The clutch is either 1. not clamped to the flywheel, 2. clamped, but a low enough force that it is still slipping, or 3. clamped with sufficient force to have no slippage.

#2 has a rather large zone on the G37, similar to a lot of VWs.

The OP just needs to stop riding his clutch, or face a rather expensive clutch replacement bill
