Does it smell bad when you ride the clutch??

I was reading throughout the all different posts about that fart kind of smell but it seems to me that it comes from the trany. I was getting the car uphill and rode the clutch several times and there goes the smell just like if I was shifting aggressively. I don't think it is the cats although I wish it was them.
Do you experience the same thing??

I have never driven a car that smells that bad when driven hard. I had few BMWs before but my Infiniti feels like it sh**ts itself on a push.

You're burning up (overheating) the clutch.

Smell is similar to overheated brake pads.

You shouldn't ever need to ride the clutch; if you're going at least 3-4 mph, you can just dump the clutch in 1st and give it gas and not stall.

3-4 mph is about 1000 rpm, way over stall.

Another explanation (although I agree that it sounds like you aren't properly actuating your clutch) is that new parts stink at first. Brakes, rotors, clutches, etc. will all "smell" funny/bad when they are brand new and are being used for the first few times. This is normal for their break in period... however if it continues for more then a week or so Id say its more likely driver error.

I'd take issue with your pit crew's ability to quickly change tires and/or refuel the vehicle given the weight and bulkiness of said items... unless of course their sole purpose is to bring hot wings to the car as you wait in the pit lane.

That's true about all you say. I do have that habit of riding the clutch at very slow speeds every once in a while but I have also totally burned several clutches on a track and I know when the clutch is going bad however it has never had that smell. Maybe because it is pretty new. Or maybe the Japanese cars are meant to be driven differently. I swear I would go on any BMW or Mercedes and drive it like I do the Infiniti and no smell will ever occur.
I wish I could say I can't drive manual but that's what i have been driving all my life.
Thank you all, as long as I know it is normal to smell bad I feel better

That's because our clutches give you a (much) larger friction zone.

Personal experience? New G's have clutches that start catching close to the floor and don't fully catch until you're pretty high up.
