It can definitely handle a turbo, but only to a certain extent. Even a manual can only handle so much without doing a tranny build.

TerryCS here has a 2nd Gen G35 Sedan, and he has twin turbos on a slightly modded AT, and he can boost up to 400hp on stock internals.

My g35 was an auto. My greddy TT did just fine. I did have a valve body upgrade to speed up the shifts.

you can do it. you will need to do some transmission upgrades. definitely recommend a valve body upgrade. also a transmission cooler and torque converter are helpful.

FI with 5AT in g35 right here, TWICE

FI in AT VQ = VB and Tranny Cooler is a Must.

Dont listen to other people that say you dont and you'll be fine, if you do I'll be waiting for your blown tranny thread.

Overall The RE5R01A Trans is a stout unit. With a minimum upgrades like the valve body mod and the a trans cooler, You should expect a good service life out of it, Even with a twin turbo set up, The key is to perform the valve upgrade as soon as or before installing the TT set up .

Below is a dyno graph for a G37 we are currently finishing up, It has our stage 2 turn key kit turbo kit ,Stage 1 valve body upgrade and our 2.5" GTM spec exhaust , The car made 455 whp @ 5psi effortlessly ...

To tell you the truth i dont really know! they do have 350z in MT but not the G35/G37, i think there are a few that buys them over here, and they just got the ATs to be safe

At 70K when basic powertrain coverage expires, this is a mod that is without a doubt in my future.

We should have much more reliablility as well as tuning data by then, and Sam will have them at 40% off.

Those are some BADASSS numbers for a 5AT. REMEMBER GUYS, 5AT #s will be lower than 6MT. Its the 5AT vs 6MT difference. I'll let Sam explain that if anyone is curious.
