Any way to add paddle shifters to a base modle G37 w/o harness inputs on the column?

I know there is a mounting point for the paddles but on my car there is no harness inputs on the steering column. Does anyone know how it interfaces with the Tx or ECU? Has anyone figured out how to add this?

thanks, but I don't think you fully read my post. I have seen posts for when the harness connections exist on the steering column, but not wiring for when there is none. Thanks for you post though.

I have the same problem in my 2007 G35 Sedan. I have the base model, and when I removed everything it turned out that I did not have the wiring. i ask the same thing, and other base G35 members said they had the wiring. I don't know if our cars are a fluke or if they have a journey and they think they have the base model. I'm really interested in resolving this problem.

I understood your post when I read the title. I remember seeing the thread about adding paddle shifters and I also remember it was for cars that did in fact have the wiring harness, just not the paddles. Your post was a valid one with a valid question. Sorry about the other useless replies, it happens, (alot).

I don't believe anyone has added the wiring harness you are referring to.

harness?

Did anyone figure this out or do they know what it would take to get a harness into a G that didn't come with one?

Have you talked with your dealer service department about adding the harness?

i just ordered an 09 g37x coupe and if it doesn't come with a harness i'd be in the same boat as the rest of the guys....the car doesn't even have paddles as an option if i pay extra or anything so this is what i'm gonna try i guess....i wish there was a harness i could buy somewhere to make it the right way....

go to the electrical part of this link...technically it should work right?

I believe the answer was that the harness was for the entire car. I strayed away because I didn't want to pull the whole dash off but perhaps I could use just some of it..interesting. I'm pretty sure its over a grand though.

wow,I just went to the link, that's awesome. It might take me a while to digest it all though. I was really hopping that it was something like a few wires going from the paddles to the tranny.

YES, YES, YES... Finally figured out how to add paddle shifters to my 2008 G37 Journey Coupe. I'll post some pictures when I get time. You have to get a couple of connector contacts from your dealer. Insert them in connector M66 behind the dash and make your own harness. It does require soldering etc. Mine works great!
