Has anyone had the VVEL actuator TSB repair?
ITB08-028 repairs the ticking/tapping/knocking noise from the driver's side VVEL actuator. Has anyone had this done? How long does it take? Can you wait while the dealership reprograms the ECM? What did you notice, other than no more knocking? Does the ECM have to relearn your driving patterns? Does the engine respond like when new (before the ECM learned your driving patterns)? Thanks.

I had this done last week... The sound is gone... For now... It took them about a day to fix it, so I dont think you can just hang out there and wait... ECm didn't really change IMO... Be sure to take them the bulletin when you get there tho...

Just out of curiousity, when did you have it done? The TSB is dated June 9, 2008. So, I think dealerships have only had the updated software for no more than three weeks. Wondering if you have the official TSB software, or an earlier interim test software.

Ya know.. this paper says "reprogrammed ECU to service bulletin"
wonder if they even did it right? I'll take it back to them in a few weeks and see I guess
