Accelerator stuck!!!

I was at a stop today when I noticed that my engine was extra loud. Like I was revving it slightly. I didn't think much of it so I continued on the freeway where there was heavy stop and go traffic. I then noticed that once I lifted my foot off the break my car jumped forward and continued at a relatively high speed ~10mph without my foot on the gas. The RPM was high enough to even shift my AT from 1st to 2nd with my foot never hitting the gas. The entire drive I was forced to shift my AT into neutral before all stops. Once I finally got home I put the car in park and the engine sounded like I had my foot slightly on the gas peddle.

I obviously have to take it in tomorrow (their are closed on Sundays). Does anyone have any idea what happened or heard of this before? Thanks

Weird, but I would check the floor mat and make sure it hasn't accidentally wedged underneath... happens to me sometimes and interferes with the accelerator.

It sounds like your accelerator pedal is proberly not getting the right signal to the ecm. Try and reset the pedal by turning on the ignition for 2 seconds then turning it off for 10 seconds for about 3 times. Be sure that the accelerator pedal is fully released when doing the reset. if that dont work then try viseversa, on for 10 seconds then off for 2 seconds.

Maybe a squirrel is stuck in your throttle body.

It was the issue on the TSB. I brought it in and they had to flash my computer. I have not picked it up yet, but I assume its working fine.

I'm really surprised they didn't send out some sort of notice. If you are not the best driver and are not expecting it, it could cause an accident.
