Erratic/High Idle On Start Up

Hi All,

Did a couple of searches and saw the Surges/Fast Idle thread, but the TSB fix for that issue is for Autos only. I have a 6MT and anytime I start the car (cold start, although it's 50 in my garage) the car idles at about 1500 as I sit, then I back out of the garage without giving the car any gas. As I pull forward in 1st gear, the idle surges up past 2000 and sticks there for a minute. Lately I just engage the clutch wothout giving gas and the car pulls forward, but the idle shoots up and sticks at around 2300. If I push the clutch in it hovers there and then settles down.

Anyone else have this? I'll take it in to see what they say, but I won't be able to recreate it once the car is warmed up. Thanks.

Normal. You got to let that car warm up for a bit man. It is reving higher to warm the engine up quicker.

Normal! It's still a "cold start" at 50 degrees....that phenomenon might calm a little in the blistering summer heat but otherwise the RPMS behave like that.
