4 wheel active steering worth it?

What exactly is 4 wheel active steering? Is it worth 1300 dollars?

tightens up your turns. Better handling. Personally i dont think its worth the 1300. Especially if your thinking about modding, i herd that it only allows certain exhaust systems. If you watch almost any video on the g37 they will describe the 4 wheel active sterring when there on the track.

My opinion not worth it.

That is the only option I didn't get. I just couldn't justify the 1300 for it. Sound more gimmicky than anything.

I think that it changes the handling characteristics enough that people will feel like they are experiencing better handling. But I am not sure if it makes a difference on the skidpad- maybe in the slalom.

I think it is really more of a safety feature in case of a high-speed lane change is necessary, like cruising up behind someone and they have a blow-out or slow suddenly. Even though the current ads market it as a performance enhancement it isn't worth the weight and cost IMO. As a safety feature it may have some merit, but as a perfomance enhancement I would look at that as pure gimmick unfortunately.

The first time I took a turn hard on an on-ramp at about 80mph I could feel it there. It was a little different to get used to than I was expecting. I do agree that if you are going to be doing heavy modding it might not be worth it, but that's up to you.

I personally find it very well worth the $1,300.00. I'd still get it if I had to do it all over again.

I do drive aggressive as well. I find it useful. How useful? Time will tell.

^I'm sure because the rear tires can turn +/- 1 degree ... you will experience a little more tire wear than if the tires were in a fixed position. My only question is the reliability of this system. My dad always told me about a car, "If it moves, then it might break.. and it might be expensive to fix." I remember the 4WS package in the mid-90s Preludes and they were reliable, but expensive to service / maintain (relative to the "regular" Preludes) so if I were to option out a G37 ... I'd not pay the extra $1300. That can go towards other mods like rims / suspension / sways / tint / etc.

That's me ... and I don't consider myself an 'aggressive' driver.

the way i drive it's well worth it. I felt that technology for the first time when the M35 first came out. That was a great test drive.

I would think if you wanted to take this out on the track you wouldn't want the 4WAS. At least that is what I have been hearing. It is suppose to be great for daily driving lanes to make things a little safer like quick lane changes. On a track, it is usually good to fish tail a little.

I decided with the one with it since it had everything else that I wanted so I didn't have to wait and on my first day of ownership I took it on a 400 mile ride. Everytime I made a turn faster than 40mph I feel something I never felt before. Man... Its nice. However... Even then I still don't know if its worth 1300... I guess it just depends on how deep your pocket is. I took a lil hit to my finances but it was either that or a red one... And I sure don't want red....

haha I love this!

back on topic, I'm curious as to how much the system weighs, cause I know on the Z32 300ZXTT is weighs quite some pounds, and if it's one thing the G37 doesn't need it's more weight.
