Need help with knock (logs available)

I'm in the process of getting my G37 etuned via Ecutek and my car is showing a bit of knock at this point. My tuner has asked me if I want to raise the knock thresholds if it's false knock, or to pull a bit of timing. I am no expert and I don't know what to do.

Would anyone be willing to look at a few of my logs and tell me their opinion please? My fuel is 93 pump gas with 8oz of Boostane which roughly makes the octane 98-99. I mix the same every time I fill up. The car wasn't showing hardly any knock but I recently did a "Reset ECU" to clear the long term fuel trims, and after doing that, there are a few places where it's pulling 3 degrees of timing.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Thanks bro! I trust my tuner completely and he's one of the most reputable ones in all of the VQ community, but he's asking me what I want to do and I can't make the decision! I'm not an expert. So, I figured I could get some other opinions. The knock isn't much, sometimes it doesn't even do it. But there's a few cases where it pops up and so I really don't know if it's just false knock or not. I'd hate to pull timing and get less performance if it's not even real knock, but I also don't want to risk damaging the motor in the few cases it knocks.

I would suggest staying away from Boostane, though following the instructions the math should make sense however you can't always rely on the actual octane of what the pump provides.
Start with a 93 to obtain a baseline, in this baseline you should see what proper knock numbers should be and this way you will be able to compare from other members that have tuned theirs.
If your knock values stay the same it will show what your problems are, since you're altering octane and the is no way to actually determine what true octane the injectors are pumping.
Once you figure this out try the boostane again and see. At $30 a can that's easily an additional $100 a month and by the end of 4 months you could have used this money on permanent modifications that will yield similar result.

I put in 8oz which is 1/4th of a can and I only put about 5,000 miles on the car a year. So I'm filling up once every few weeks maybe? Sometimes it might even be longer than that if I don't drive it much that month. So it's not much of a cost to add it in overall. But I totally agree with the unpredictability of the octane levels. I thought that would be of concern while tuning. I just figured that if I can add a few points of octane (it's safe to say that the amount I'm putting in should raise it to at LEAST 95-96+) then the tuner can safely add a little bit of timing without ever getting knock, even if the quality of pump gas varies a little bit. I am not looking to gain big numbers from adding it, but a small bump would be nice for the relatively low cost since I don't drive the car much.

I've done just about every other performance mod that I'm comfortable with, engine-wise, except for maybe a lightweight (not underdriven) pulley. Later on, I'll be getting things such as lighter wheels, flywheel, rotors, battery, etc.

Unpredictability of the octane levels is what most E85 members struggle with, those that want to keep using ethanol see themselves installing flex fuel sensors to send the right voltage to the ECU to determine ethanol content. Without this sensors E85 guys are stuck with what the pump provides and 80% of the time it does not reach the 85% content.

Same concept with your issue. You may find the power you're looking for after you tune. Diagnosis-es require the process of elimination to determine said problem. Though most Gs in the 330s+ have higher knock thresholds to keep knock happy you need to find out if your issue is actual knock detection due to other components like blowby oil entering the cylinder/ quality of plugs/ gas and tuning.
