Want some input about tuning (AdminTuning)

Hey all,

Would appreciate some input/opinions. I'm in the process of getting a tune w/ Moncef. I don't have any mods other than some KN drop ins. I was mainly looking to fix the notorious throttle lag and dead spots. When I spoke to Moncef he mentioned how EcuTek changes the ECU, etc but can't really affect the TCM which is what I would need to fix the throttle lag. He's trying to find a work around to get it as close as possible but so far not much improvement.

Anyway, my question is: Why are there so many people w/ raving reviews about fixing the throttle issue if this is the case? I'm quoting one person below who went w/ Seb at SpecialtyZ. How can I get something similar?

Appreciate any advice/perspective.

-Throttle Response: is a solid 10/10. No lag at all. Easy to get used to and is progressive in its behavior in how it acts. No more dead spots in the throttle at all.

Auto Shifting:

-Lets be honest, the 7AT is pretty eh in its behavior. Shifts are lackluster and the response is somewhat subpar. ECUTEK pretty much changes everything about the behavior of the 7AT.

-Crisp Shifts. No more hesitation at all.

-Shifts are quick and precise.

-Manual Mode is 10x more response then stock. Paddles are instant and the
shifting will jolt you back in your seat.

-The shift logic is much improved as well. Paired with the throttle response improvements, the regular D mode is crisp and not lazy. You put your foot down and it will give you the gear you need.

My plan is to go with Seb in the first place. Check out this ecutek 370z overview on YT. Its long but has a lot of good info about what you can do with it. There is some good throttle body info in there too like how sometimes the TB won't open more than 30% under 2500 RPM.

This is NOT TRUE for North American vehicles. That videos uses a 370 from Europe.

If the tuner knows how to modify the "Torque Demand" tables, the shifting will be greatly improved.
Not all tuners do.
