Question is: what restriction causes that in our engine? Head, exhaust, both?

OP, the 3.5 plenum comes from the HR engine. It's pretty much the same plenum but it has slightly longer runners which translates to better mid range (read: under the curve) power. It was first sold by companies as a M370 intake i believe. It does have a slightly different mounting pattern so it is not a direct swap, but it's not a hard mod to do on your own if you have the tools, time, and knowledge. Some people have dyno data that shows a steeper drop off in power in the higher RPMs. I didn't have that at all, and as you can see with chuckie311, neither did he; but it still remains a debatable topic. Hence the question that was posed if you had one due to the appearance of the rather quick looking drop in power you have above 6.5k; but it's not really that odd of a drop after closely examining.

You have a good engine and making good power, go tear up the strip and post up your slip!

Not sure why you want to have TQ in the upper RPM's that's where you want more Horsepower to be

As has been stated, HP is a function of torque and rpm. The more torque you make at a given rpm, the more HP you get. If your torque drop past peak is less than the next guy, you're engine will make more HP. It's that simple.

I'm fine with it. It was brought up by people that have yet to do anything to their cars. I will see how it performs soon!!

Wow you went from 268 -> 331whp

that's +63whp increase.

I mentioned in another thread that you could gain +50whp with nearly the same bolt ons you had and chuckie311 was in disbelief. You have headers and gained +63whp total. Impressive.

y-back exhaust - 600
tune - 850

$2600 total. You can sub the expensive Admin intakes for other intakes which are $100 cheaper and doesn't require a PCV delete kit to save over $200 bringing total cost to $2300-2400.

those are basic bolt ons that most people can do themselves if they have access to tools and a floor jack with stands.

All of that will put you close up 320whp. A stock g37 is around 270whp.

+50whp for ~$2,500

you better go to the dyno sections and read up..
dynos numbers don’t mean **** since they all read differnet..
you want real numbers go to the track.
I know a guy with a admin tuned g37 sedan that ran 13.1 on 19" coupe wheels.

There was a admin tuned 370z that ran 12.5 n/a all motor that same day.

There's also a all motor g37x sedan owned by Matt that ran a 12.6. I believe you are definitely capable of 12s
