Dyno results?? Puzzling
Well just got back and not sure how to feel. I do know I'm puzzled.. Thanx for Rinokill for coming out also. Nice meeting you,
Well I have a 2011 G37X 7 SPD AT- 1286 miles
Exoticspeed exhaust installed just installed and Stillen Gen 3's installed 3 weeks ago,.
Car made 243 WHP@6500 RPMs and 220 WTQ @4208 RPMS,
AF's where 12-13 all the way to 6360 RPMS.
Each run got better we only made 3 pulls, First pull was 232 and 208 WTQ. The guys told me that the ECU was still learing the new Exhaust and thats why each pull was 5 WHP better than the last?
Ok the puzzling things is the other G there was a G35 with 38k miles and Stillen CBE( Stock intakes) he made the same power as me?? How is that possiable.. G35=306HP G37=330HP and Dyno the same?? He also had a 5spd auto X.
Options guys, BTW the Dyno reads lower than a Mustang and the correction factor was .9 under 1- so negative correction, Temp was 55 or so with very low humidity.

That's about right for 6500 and close to what I got as well. Had they continued to redline you'd probably see mid 270's. You can get a Dynojet rough estimate by multiplying your SAE value by 1.2. For fun find a dynojet run and cross reference 6500 RPM, factor in a few horses less for an X and you should be close.
Question is why didn't they take it to 7600 RPM?

So what do I do. Take what value? I thought the car hit the REV limiter they put it 4th and just went the REV limit is what 7200? Still think I would have had better numbers with more miles on the car and some agressive pulls on the exhaust prior NO?

You can have the same G37 stock as your friend G37 for example. 2 different drivers, 2 different driving style. The results will not be the same. If you drive more aggressive, your going to have more output on power. If you drive like a granny, you ain't going to get much power. Why should the car put our more power for the granny driving if your not going to use it. If your always driving aggressively and fast your car is going to be putting out more power. Make sense?

^ What...? makes no sense
I'm pretty sure what your talking about is the ecu learning driving habits.... but as soon as you put it into manual mode and floor it im pretty sure all power kicks in regardless on how you drive?
Besides I drove really slow to the dyno, the gas light was on when i dynoed my car
OP, nice meeting you too. I'm confused with the dynos aswell, idk but i feel like they didnt do it correctly on either of our cars. I didnt understand why they didnt go all the way to 7200 rpms, when i go WOT on DS mode my car shifts at 8k...
Can someone explain the AFR in more details? What happens when we make it run rich or lean?

Yes it does deal w/ the ECU but if your going to drive like a granny. The ECU is going to say less gas. If you drive aggressive, the ECU is going to say more gas. More gas, more power. Less gas, less power. Is why that person was reading just about the same amount of HP as the G35. The guy in the G35 drive more aggressively.

The person doing the dyno makes a huge impact in the outcome as well, even though it's just pushing a pedal down. When I had my done, the first pull yielded 210whp. I was all WTF is that! Then he did the gas differently and it went up to ~230whp, then another way of pushing the gas had ~250whp. Basically, the guy doing mine didn't know what the hell he was doing and my numbers jump all over the place. I have I/E and the majority of the members here have ~270-280whp, so that's what I claim when asked.

^ lol read carefully..... i am the guy with the G35 that drove like a granny past few days prior the dyno
just proves when you go WOT its going to put out max power no matter how u drive
