Need opinions on stereo install
Right now I'm debating on what to do. I have the 4080 sub box and two mismatching amps that I was going to use. One for the sub and one for the Focals I have. Since they were mismatching, I was going to do a stealth install to hide them away.
After coming back from the show and seeing everyone's sweet systems, I'm really tempted to sell these amps to get something matching for a little more show quality setup. Only reason I was going to use these amps was b/c of money issues. One amp I got for $100 and the other I have leftover from my old car. If I get new amps it'll probably run at least $600.
Can't decide...

If you went for a show look then you would almost certainly have to have matching amps, but if they were in a stealth type amp rack it wouldn't matter cuz no one would see them. With the 4080 box it is more of a stealthy type of box anyway. You might want to hide everything as much as you can. If you really wanted people to see it and hear it. I'm not sure if a 4080 box will be as eye catching as a custom floor mounted sub or a custom enclosure in the rear of the trunk. That's something that you will have to decide on your own.
I think since you already have the 4080 box you may want to tear off into the stelath look and not worry so much about the different amps to save you money and continue with the stealthy "theme" you started when you picked up the 4080 box in the first place.
Have you thought about where you were going to mount the amps yet?
I mean the spare tire area seems like a pretty decent spot for you because the donut in there is kind of worthless now that you are rolling on dubs. Either that or you can raise the trunk floor with a light weight wooden spacer and cut amp spaces in them. Or you could do the same thing on the back of the passenger seat. Or you could mount them under the 2 front seats. It depends on how hardcore you are going to be with it.

That's my dilemma I'm facing right now. I'm not sure if they'll fit on the rear seat back. I've kinda propped them up and it doesn't look like both will fit side by side. I think their too big for under the seats also.
I'm going to meet w/ an installer later today to discuss my options. I don't want it to look ghetto and like it had been thrown together. Man I should really just install myself. I've already partially installed the front components.

True because both of them on the seatback would look funny if they were different amps. But if it is only one on the seat back no one will ever know the other one isnt the same type. Sneaking Moog I like your thinking.
