DIY: Stripped cat/header bolt, help!
Stripped cat/header bolt, help!
Hey all,
I was fitting some new HFC, (old ones installed by a mechanic so demon bolt was not going to be an issue) and the stud from the manifold side has been partially stripped (I'm guessing by the mechanic). Because of this I can't get a good seal and my lovely G sounds like a tractor thanks to the exhaust leak. I'm thinking a tap and die set could be used to re-thread the boot, but there isn't a huge amount of room to manouver, any other ideas of how to solve this problem?
Huge thanks in advance.

Tapping and rethreading is ghe best solution you can try to also put som high heat (copper) permatex on the gasket to seal it too but it all require disassembly to a certain extent
