DIY: Angel Eyes, Wiring, and TSX-R lens swap
#18
How do your cutoffs and everything look without spacers? I am installing my lenses soon and am not sure what to do about spacers. Any shots of your cutoffs/light throw?
Great work!!!

Thanks blnewt! I remember reading all that some time ago, looks like it takes some fine tuning to get a good cutoff line and clear output. I might try it but not sure since it takes custom tuning with paper lense spacers to get the output right. Nothing hard just not sure if I want to mess with it after that Z guy had his beams all over the place.

If we just swap the lenses, does the cutoff line no longer be horizontally straight?

For an even more dramatic "laser-straight" cutoff, the metal lens shield can be cut, IMO it's not necessary but if you're really into the stuff over on HIDplanet it seems the cutoff can never be too perfect

The cutoff will be the same as long as you don't mess with the bi-xenon shields. My only resistance to opening the lights up is the metal retaining ring to hold the new clear lenses with spacers tight. I wonder how much trimming to the shields is needed to perfect the cutoff or is trimming the black tab down required. Post some before and after pics of cutoff!

Well, while fixing my loose projector lense and bi-xenon shield getting stuck on bright, I realized I already had clear lenses from the previous owner. No wonder it came loose, the idiot hardly put the ring back on. Well, when I lubed the little rod that flicks the shield up/down for the brights, I must have bent it or something. So, the brights are fixed but now I have a great cutoff on the passenger side and a terrible yellow blur on the left with probably half the lumen. After all that work, I'm not doing it again so it's going to be ghetto until I pay someone to just send me a modded driver side. Ugh. For your laughing pleasure :
