Is there a DIY for upstream 02 sensors??? I tried searching every page of this section for "sensors", just found 1 unrelated post.

are you trying to replace it? Im not sure which one this is (either the one before the cat, or after towards the rear)
Speaking from past experience, I think you'll need to remove the cat for easier access to the sensor (if its the one before the cat), try getting a swivel, or small wrench...and I believe the plug should be in the engine bay..

 

good point, yes i should specify this is for replacement.. I've been told by a dealer that it's the upstream right side / passenger side sensor and is indeed allegedly before the cat.

I've gotten a little advice since my post,.. one guy said i should do this sort of thing with the car slightly warm, allegedly so i don't strip or break anything and to use some PB Blaster spray, then twist once clockwise and then counterclockwise.. but i don't like spraying anything onto hot surfaces, makes me nervous. i'll try a swivel or small wrench tho thank you

 

yea i would try to start the car, and let it sit for a couple of minutes since your probably in a cold air...most likely it will not strip...Not too sure about the counter clockwise, the clockwise...I would just remove it instead of placing too much tension on the blots thus cause it to strip/break... but it shouldnt be too difficult to remove...Good luck
