Nope, not yet. Since it's a Nismo kit and this is a street car, I also need to buy a thermostatic plate conversion kit from z1. Nismo's kit uses a non- thermostatic adapter, which is fine for race only applications.

Still, with the cost of the adapter I still saved a lot of dough

Will catalog pics of the install later this month. Gotta let some cash flow in before buying the adapter.

Something just occurred to me that I just don't have an answer to... How do I do thorough oil changes after installing this cooler? Since the cooler fittings are on the top of it, you can't ask for gravity to assist. And second, using a thermostatic sandwich plate will isolate the cooler anyway.

So how do I easily get all the old oil out when doing s regular oil change?

you can't drain it all completely for the reason you described. I asked GTM about flipping the oil cooler and they recommended not doing that due to oil flowing back into the pan and the potential for misreading the oil level on the dipstick. it would be nice if the cooler cores came with a drain.

Well, that sucks a bit. Plus with a bigger core the capacity is higher. I'll just have to change the oil more often. Frankly, my interval is pretty short for a high quality synthetic anyway so I guess I shouldn't be too worried about it. I run Amsoil, FWIW. Been thinking of switching to redline for race protection but I'll do an oil analysis on my amsoil first, after the HPDE.

I don't think any G's, including the IPL (sorry I don't know what 'GC' is in reference to) have external oil or trans coolers from the factory.
