grille insert

is there a specific way to remove the grille inserts on the sport bumper?

-i tried pulling on the tabs and it seems that it was just break off cuz its plastic
-i tried just pushing out the insert but it doesnt budge and seems to hook or connect onto the area around the tab
-i tried yanking it out and sucessfully separated the tab from the bumper on 1 out of the 4 tabs on the smaller grill insert but then the plastic started to turn white meaning its about to break.
-the instructions are NOT in the service manual

I'm guessing you mean the faux vents on the bumper? or also the grille on the mouth opening?
They're clip on, but you'd have to remove the bumper to get at the clips on the rear of the bumper.
I dunno if your cars are the same but I have a JDM model the faux vents are connected to a larger piece with a plug & cable running from them, I'm guessing it's the impact sensor for the air bag, no way to remove those without taking off the bumper first
