what does the dealer whack you for transmission fluid replacement (and transfer case)?

i did power steering fluid and am going to do the diffs myself, but i'm feeling lazy about the transmission.

I'm not having the transmission fluid changed,just the transfer case and differentials,doing it myself.

sorry, i wasnt asking you in particular, just anyone who has had the dealer do the trans/transfer case fluid. wondering if they get ridiculous with the price ...

i'm looking to change my rear differential fluid. this transfer case is "front differential"... does this only applies to G37 X model or are they on all G37? i didn't get a chance to look at my G37 no X model. thanks in advance.

Non x should only have rear differential,no transfer case and no front differential.

I think I broke the oil pressure switch trying to break the full plug loose on the front dif.

Does anyone know if this is a Nissan only part? And is it safe to drive until I can get it replaced? Sorry for the pic quality not much room to get a decent angle.

Just finished rear diff,trans case and front diff. The rear is only listed as 3 pint refill, but it took more than that to reach the fill hole.

I managed to get around doing this earlier today! I used Redline Redline 75W90 for both my front & rear diffs and Redline D4 ATF(Matic J equivalent) for my transfer case. The total cost of my doing this was about $100 bucks for the fluids + $12 for the 10mm hex socket and a 3-4 hours.

The only issue I found was trying to get a torque wrench on the fill bolt (because of the oil pressure switch). I also under torqued it so I had to jack the car up again and torque it with 26 ft lbs not 26 in lbs (woops).

I also didn't replace the gaskets but if I could do it over again, I would replace it with new gasket for some peace of mind.

Hey Buckets, not sure how old this thread is but I really hope you (or anyone else familiar with this DIY) can take the time to read this because I need your help. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind I am a total NOOB! Based on the pics I don't really have any idea where the front diff drain and fill plugs are located but I'm sure once I'm under the car I will figure it out.

OK. So assuming I have the panel removed and have the front diff fill and drain plugs exposed. I would then remove the front diff drain plug and let the fluid drain out until it reaches a slow drip. I would clean the drain plug and screw it back in 2-3 times to ensure all the sediment is out. Once the reservoir is empty and plug cleaned, I would then screw the drain plug back in (with proper torque) and pump the new fluid into the fill plug until it slightly poors out the fill hole (ensuring its full) now would I drain it again ensuring all the old fluid is gone? and repeat the process? and is this the same process for the rear diff? Thanks in advance for any help/advice on this DIY.
