Question: is installing an intake a DIY job?

Wondering if installing an Injen or R2C intake would be a do it yourself job or better off leaving it to a pro. I am somewhat handy but I've never really worked on cars, other than cosmetically. Thoughts?

the instructions are fairly easy to follow. If you can you some basic tools you should have no issues and you'll save some money too.

Installing intakes are definitely a nice DIY job. You'll learn a lot about working on your car by installing simple bolt-ons like intake and exhaust.

Short ram intakes are absolutely the easiest thing to install. If you can open the hood, you can install those intakes.

Long cold air intakes are more difficult but very doable. It does require removing the front bumper cover.

Any instructions on the R2c? Someone said the instructions aren't the best. If there are not, I made do a DIY thread on them.

I meant to say I will make one. Must have been asleep when I wrote that. I should be getting mine in a few days.

It was a pain in the *** only cause the instructions were terrible and I didn't have all of the parts. I had to make a run to the hardware store so I could mount the second L bracket for the air filter housing.

If you get it and need some help, let me know.

r2c's will be super easy to install but the injens will be slightly harder because you have to remove the bumper. other then that they are both easy to install

The first thing I did with my G were my cold air intakes. I hadn't worked with the G at all before that, so it really expanded my working knowledge of where things are and how they come together on this car. I fully recommend you do it yourself, just be careful with the MAF sensors when you remove them from the stock tubes and you'll be fine.
