DIY: Grounding kits made simple, step by step guide to making your own!

I was skeptical at first too that the grounding kit would improve the manual shifting in DS Mode but it did! I would say it was significantly noticeable during up shift. My bass got a stronger kick too. I followed the OP instruction and made my kit with 8 awg stranded. Awesome and easy mod. Thanks OP!!!

Hi
I had a question in regards to the
6 individual 8 gauge ring terminals
3 individual 4 gauge ring terminals
How big are the holes suppose to be for the actual rings ?
5/16 HOLE ?
I'm going to do this , I can do this LOL
I love how i'm motivating myself not to screw this up .

Excellent Write up & good photo detail. I did not read all of the pages so I may have missed this, but I notices you used Red cable for your grounding kit. And some of the on line kits are red. In general terms though, a red wire on a car is a hot wire. just for safety sake shouldn't the grounding kit wires be blue, or black, or anything but red?

with regards to the grounding kit and unplugging the battery, some have had problems where u have to reset/program the windows because of disconnecting the battery. Are there any other side issues that result from this?
Might be silly, but I'm not familiar in this area at all - would resetting the ECU from unplugging the battery affect the tune I just got?

About to do this mod, but came across this older thread that says not to ground the battery because it would bypass a voltage detection/varying circuit that controls the alternator:

Any other comments on this theory?

Oh sorry Bri didnt see the specifics of your question =\
BTW I just made these last night. Took about an hour to get everything done. Took my time while watching family guy and also soldered the connections. However they're not done yet, I didn't get the wire sleeves in the mail yesterday so I will do that today when it gets delivered.

Thanks, maybe another dumb question but does it really matter if I connect both of those wires and put them into one terminal or is it okay to just use two different terminals. I have a sub/amp install and am using 4 gauge wires for my grounding kit and its hard to find 2 gauge terminals. Or will 1/0 gauge terminals work with just having to crimp down harder?
