Need help re: replacing engine air filters

I've never changed an engine air filter in my life, but I hear they are quite easy to replace on the G37 Sedan.

Can anyone point me to a service bulletin or post some photos with instructions?

No rush - I'm SEVERAL months out from replacing OEM.

Many thanks.

PS I will be using two Wix 49382 filters for the job.

PPS Many thanks to Redline37 for posting the cabin air filter procedure. I'll be using Wix Part #24479 for the cabin filter change when the time comes.

Check the owner's manual. Illustrations and written instructions. Then you'll already have a copy printed out with the car when you're in the process!

On mine (2009) it's page 8-18. In the "Maintenance and Do-It-Yourself" chapter, under "Air cleaner."

Hope that helps!

get a CAI or SR, you dont have to replace the filter anymore.

There's a metal clip and all u have to do is pop open the clip and pull the filter tray upwards.

Apologies if that was a typo, but according to the Wix site that should be 49362. The 49382 is a BMW cabin filter.

This is correct, I've been using them since the first change and have a pair in the garage that I just checked.
