DIY: How to Replace Cabin Filter and Glove Box Bulb
Thanks very much. That was very helpful. So the longest thing for me was the light wasn't working once plugged in. I finally got a solid connection after reversing the light several times. I thought the led was bad after several attempts. But it finally started working for me.
This thread is the way to do it for me!!!
I did this again today to install a Diode Dynamics glove-box LED. It gets faster every time. Ten minutes out and in today.
I am firmly in the remove-glove-box-door camp. First time I tried it without doing that. A time-consuming mistake.
I was tempted to replace my cabin filter again after only 3K miles...it was clean though...

Can someone explain why a carbon cabin filter is better than a "regular" one? And what is a good carbon cabin filter brand? I ordered a glove LED bulb from DD and wanted to go ahead and switch both out at the same time.
Thanks in advance!

A lot of these steps are unnecessary.. just pick up a bit extender that can attach to screwdriver, then all you need to do is take the screws out rather than detaching the door. Took me 10 minutes the first time then 5 minutes the second time.. less likely to damage things I think.
As for carbon filters, I just got one from Cleenaire which appeared to be great quality compared to what was in there. Sturdy and dense foam lined to prevent dirty air leaking past the filter, dual-sided carbon treated and supposedly 7 layers of filtration material. It's also really cheap.. I got it for less than $15.

When I did mine and put it all back together the left top of the glove box sits out about half a centimeter, and doesn't want to sit flush. I can push it in a bit and it sits flush but then hangs back down when I'm not holding it up in place. I've taken it apart and put it back together twice now making sure everything is fastened up tight but it still hangs down. Anyone have any ideas on what's causing it?
