DIY: How to Replace Cabin Filter and Glove Box Bulb
Now I don't have to worry about light at night with the headlights on as I try to rummage through my empty glovebox looking for something thats not in there.
I ordered the Fram CF10140 Fresh Breeze Cabin Filter from Amazon for $17 and installed in all of 15 minutes. There were some reports of [perceived] decreased airflow and increased time to cool down, but I didn't notice any difference in mine today in 100+ degree heat--so far so good! The dealership wanted $70 to replace the filter, so write ups like this really help save a few bucks (and you know it's done right with a better quality filter)--thanks!
Thank you for an informative DIY, which I am planning to do on my new-to-me 2009 G37x. It smells to me like cigarette smoke.
I just ordered the NPN Cabin Air Filter Part #: W0133-1637633 for $14 plus $7 for shipping from autopartswarehouse.com.
I have a couple of questions:
One of the other methods listed in a reply in this thread, 2007-2011 Infiniti G35/G37 Sedan In Cabin Micro Filter Replacement Procedure | Infinitihelp.com , does not mention removing the bottom cover or the right side panel. Can the replacement be done without doing those?
They also want you to remove the harness connector, but you don't. Do you see a problem if I do or don't?
Also, I'd like to clean some ducts if I can. Do you know which are the ducts that feed cabin air into the filter when it is in recirculation mode?
Thanks again for the DIY and thanks in advance to all who help with these questions.

I didn't remove the harness connector as well. There's no reason to unless you plan on yanking the piece around, just be careful. I think you do need to remove the bottom cover though because you grab the entire back cover by the bottom and pull it up like it says.
It was quite easy. The hardest part is probably pulling the damper pin out, I just used a needle nose plier instead since I couldn't get it by finger.

Thank you!
Your write up saved me a lot of headache from trying to figure it out myself.
Interesting, I only 3500 miles on my car and the filter is dirtier than I thought for such low miles. I guess Texas air is pretty dirty.

Has anyone used B72771EA0A? Apparently it's Nissan's grapeseed filter.
2009 Infiniti G37 In Cabin MicroFilter
infinitipartscenter.net seems to confirm it will fit in a G37:

Thank you Redline.
The G37 seems a tad more difficult than my previous 2006 G35
I just replaced my air filters and cabin filter as I just turned 15k miles. I'm on my second G and found that changing filters every 15 thousand miles is about the right time. I only use Infiniti filters from the dealer's parts department.
