Best products for detailing inside and out?

Hi everyone! With the warm weather around the corner I am looking into buying the necessary products to do a full detail and wax on both my G and my wife's car. My only problem is that I have no idea which products are good vs bad. I have used boat wax in the past with some other cars and it worked great. Just looking for some reviews/suggestions. Thanks!

For me...as I get older the best stuff are the easiest stuff to use, acquire, and give the best results....On the interior I like Lexol Vinylex for the vinyl stuff and Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner for the leather stuff. And the exterior I like to use Meguire's cleaners and wax and quick detailer. All pretty easy-on easy-off and great results. And for the wheels I like P21 Gel. In the past I've used mink oil to keep the nappa leather seats in my e36 M3 nice an supple so they didn't crack. I haven't tried it on the G yet...Different kind of leathers too...So I might just stick with the Lexol stuff.

For commonly found, off-the-shelf stuff, Meguiars makes great products.

For niche, mail-order stuff, Zaino has quite a loyal following: Zaino Store

Sometimes, though, it's not so much product as it is technique. In that spirit, buy a bunch of microfiber towels, and don't be shy about throwing them out after they go through the wash a few times.

When I bought my G37 used I thought the leather was clean, not the case. I received some Mother products at a trade show. I first used the Leather Wash Foaming Cleaner followed by Leather Cream Moisture-Rich Conditioner......big difference!

+1 for Meguiars. I use only Meguiars for the interior and Mothers for the exterior. 1) Clay Bar, 2) Polish, 3) Wax, 4) repeat. LOL

Thanks for the opinions guys! I thought I would learn more about less popular items VS the mainstream stuff. You do make a good point though Rochester in saying that the technique is equally as important.

I prefer AMMONYC. He is on the YouTube channel /Drive. I have used his products in the past, and actually just ordered some more last night. They aren't the cheapest products but the quality is there.

Just watch this video on /DriveClean and you can tell how passionate he is about detailing cars and you'll see what I mean.

I find myself agreeing with you far too often in this section lol. In any case I would second the Megs opinion and the MF you can never have enough good Microfiber towels around.

I would disagree on Zaino as I tend to be more of a fan of Chemical Guys, Poorboys World and Dodojuice not that there is anything wrong with Zaino just a difference of opinion. As far as where to order from/experimenting with new products I am huge fan of Autogeek as they have a good selection of products, tools and microfibers as well as great customer service with me and when I was just starting out I found their tips and tricks along with reviews and descriptions very helpful.
