Stillen exhaust rust

Last night I was cleaning the exhaust tips and noticed the signs of rusting. My car is less than 6 months old.
Should I clean them with metal polish and get over with it?
Does this happen to your exhaust?

I'm not sure it's supposed to rust that bad. Might wanna give stillen a call, maybe send them pictures. They may be able to give you some input, or may realize it may be defective.

Its corroding from salt. Or sum winter chemicals they use. Have u tried using a polishing pad? Keep ur car more cleaned or pick up a winter beater if u have lotta mods. Call stillen ss shouldn't rust either way.

Winter is not even over yet and I kept the car in the garage most of the time. It kind of pissed me off. I am reasonable person, some rust in the next few years I would have not problem with. But not couple months into the winter and with only one snow storm I wasn't even on the road.

I will hold off on polishing, I am afraid it will remove the outer coat and make the rust worse.

I am going to send Stillen this link.

I could take a picture of my exhaust in the same area if you'd like to compare. Is your car a coupe or sedan?

SS Does rust, especially if road salt hasnt been cleaned off.

SS does not have an outer coat.

Use a product called "Barkeeper's Friend" it is in a can that looks like cleanser, but it has Oxalic Acid.
Oxalic Acid re-passivates Stainless Steel.

DO NOT use steel wool, or any metal abrasive. Use a Mr Clean magic eraser pad.

Quality ss doesn't rust 304, PH etc. Cheap ss, with out proper properties. Processed incorrectly the carbon levels are whack.
