I have some hardened tree sap on the hood of my 2012 G37XS Malbec Black. Someone recommended "Goof Off". I'm concerned that it might damage the paint.. Anyone got any suggestions? Or know if that product will hurt the paint job? Or another product that will take the sap off?

My friend had some sap on his BO G35 and he said hand sanitizer started to get it off. Good luck.

 

Had some on mine, I used TRIX and some fine clay (the clay wasn't totally necessary but went ahead just to make sure).. then just re-waxed the hood.

Nothing much too it.

I would image if you have some APC you might want to try different strength ratios, might save you a few bucks.

 

I always just wash my car right after and it came off right away.

 

I used rubbing alcohol and it came right off. I believe this is why hand sanitizer works. I would lay a paper towel on the spots affected, pour the alcohol on the paper towel and let it sit for a few minutes to soften up the sap. Then wipe gently. I would then rinse the car off.

 

i had tree sap get on the glass window of my car. i tried every method from alcohol to clay (didnt completely remove everything and it was stilll sticky). the only thing that worked 100% was goo gone.

goo gone will remove your wax and will not be safe for the clear coat if left on too long. what i would advise i to get some googone on a microfiber and press the microfiber over the treesap. you are going to get the treesap to try and absorb the goo gone for a while and try to slowly wipe it away. just make sure you dont keep the goo goon for a really long time and wax afterwards

Use very hot water on a microfiber cloth and it should take it right off.
