I guess I did a good job, but I had help

Last month I turned in my '09 G37x sedan (leased) which was Black Obsidian. A week later it showed up on the dealer's used vehicles page, with this description: "The finish on this car looks brand-new...this car has to have been garaged to have a finish this good."

Well, no. I live in a townhouse and have no garage. But I always cared for the exterior with stuff I got from Detailed Image--JetSeal 109, Chemical Guys glaze, Optimum no-rinse wash, Natty's paste wax, etc.--along with the tips and advice in this forum.

So, anyone who is a bit leery of shelling out the modest extra expense for this stuff, don't be. Three years being parked under a tree in front of my house and the finish still looked "brand-new." And listen to the detailers who post here, they know whereof they speak. I'll definitely continue the tradition with my 2012 G, which is Malbec Black.

i returned my car this past thanksgiving and upon the lease end inspection, the guy was appalled that my car had 60k miles on it and yet the paint on it "looked better than it came from the factory"..

whether you lease or buy, always take care of your car..you are paying for it some how.
